Mutauro Weshona is a global online learning platform dedicated to teaching, promoting and preserving the Shona language and culture.
We run interactive lessons for children, teenagers, adults, families and anyone curious about Chishona. Learning happens through live classes, group practice, reading activities, digital resources and cultural conversation, so students build practical language skills while learning where the words come from.
Families living outside Zimbabwe face a specific problem: the home language slips away quietly, one generation at a time. We exist as a bridge between generations, wherever in the world our learners happen to live.

Our tutors
Our teaching team is made up of native Shona speakers who teach for a living. They plan around the learner rather than around a fixed syllabus, and they keep parents informed about what is working.

Our approach to learning
